We just had our Victoria Day Weekend up here in Canada. The May Two-Four. That’s my excuse this time for not sending out a newsletter on Saturday or Sunday. But really? It’s because I’ve fallen out of a couple of habits and my routine is out of kilter.
I could beat myself up over this, or acknowledge that it’s because there’s a lot going on in the world. COVID. Monkey Pox. Children dead in Texas. Numerous arrests close to home through violent and reckless long weekend celebrations. How do we send our kids out into it all right now?
It makes this project seem fairly frivolous, but at the same time reinforces how badly some frivolity and a creative outlet are needed.
Anyway, we (Kevin and I) are still hard at work. Kickstarter surveys and “Your Pet in the Bestiary” submission details are still trickling in (remember, login to Kickstarter and if you HAVEN’T responded to the survey, there will be a red banner at the top of the page indicating you need to complete it. Please do so, otherwise, we won’t be able to send you your rewards), and work/life moves on.
In other news, I have my 30th high school reunion this weekend. Wow. I’m old. I predict that I may be able to pose for one of Kevin’s skull sketches when all is said and done and I (re)surface on Sunday. Wish me luck, and don’t expect a newsletter in your inbox until next week.
