Hey, Mad Quill newsletter community (bet you didn’t know you had a name)!
Apologies I missed last week, and that this weekend’s missive is coming late, but better late than never, right? Life and all its surprises got in the way over the past couple of weeks so I took a brief hiatus, but I’m back and ready to go.
As a quick update, Kevin is still madly churning out skull sketches for The Bestiary’s last stretch goal (for any of you who are new subscribers, we recently successfully funded a Kickstarter campaign for Mad Quill’s first graphic novel/field guide: The Bestiary - Feral: A field guide to the new world), which promised all physical tier backers an original, numbered-and-signed “skull of the beast” sketch included in their book package.
Pretty sweet, right?
Apart from that, we’re confirming some final details with our printer (StudioComix Press in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada) and combing through all of the “Your Pet in The Bestiary” submissions. So many amazing pets are being shared, which you’ll all see in the finished product!
Surveys were sent out a couple of weeks ago. Please check your inboxes, spam folders, etc. If you never got one, please let me know via the comments section, or by emailing mike@madquillcomics.com. Alternatively, log in to Kickstarter itself, and visit The Bestiary page. At the top, there should be some form of notification indicating that you haven’t filled out the survey yet, or a link you can click to confirm the details:
NOTE: These surveys need to be filled out. Some are more important than others, but they need to be filled out in order to make sure we have your proper address, especially if you opted in to the “Your Pet in The Bestiary” tier. There are still many surveys outstanding, so please remember to get those done so we can compile illustrations and stories around your furry (or scaly) friends and get them into the book!
OK, I think that’s it for now. Next time, I’ll update you all on how I’m progressing with my Atomic Habits activities (see Newsletter #26 for more details) and my attempts to be productive, creative, and an overall better human being.
Hope all is well with you and yours.
“See” you next week.
Mike
