So, we took some days “off” to bask in the success of our first Kickstarter campaign – The Bestiary: Feral - A field guide to the new world – and refocus on our day jobs, families, etc. But now we’re back to it!
I sent off a message to those who backed our “Your Pet in The Bestiary” regarding the next steps there (if you didn’t receive one, please contact me at mike@madquillcomics.com), and will be sending forth surveys in the coming weeks to make sure we have all the proper details for everyone else who backed a physical tier (i.e. proper address, whether you want to add more books to your order, etc.).
But apart from that, it’s down to work. Kevin has a TON of skulls to draw after foolishly (read: AMAZINGLY) promising to reward all physical tier backers with an original, numbered, and signed “Skull of the beast” sketch if we hit 200 backers (we hit 255!).
I thought he was going to be in big trouble, but he’s already made a significant dent in the project, evidenced by the awesome work below.
We also enjoyed significantly more interest in the “Your Pet in The Bestiary” tier, so we are collecting the pertinent information from those backers, and both Kevin and I will work on translating those details into imagery and copy, integrating those furry (or scaly?) friends into Sir Clancy’s New World discoveries.
So, lots of illustrating, lots of writing, and we’ll be able to provide some updates in short order about all the rest (i.e. when you’ll be getting the finished product).
