Funded isn't the same as finished...
Feral #2 is 134% funded, with 21 days to go.
Thanks to everyone who’s brought us this far. Our success to date is obviously amazing, and we’re incredibly grateful. But one of the interesting things about crowdfunding is that “funded” is not the same thing as “finished.”
Right now, the campaign is doing well because the people who have found it are responding. We’ve seen returning Feral readers come back, new backers jump in, and people who are excited about the larger world of Feral respond to the new, exclusive tier tied to what we’re building next (more on that at the end of this post).
The next challenge is simple: we need more people to discover it.
That’s been one of the biggest lessons of this campaign so far. Ads can help create awareness. Kickstarter discovery works. Updates can be annoying, but they do keep the needle moving. But the strongest signal still comes from real people sharing the project with other real people who might care.
So if you’ve already backed, shared or sent a kind note, thank you. And if you know one other person who might be into historical horror, werewolves, indie comics, tabletop RPGs, frontier folklore or strange old-world monsters in the wilds of North America, sending them the campaign would genuinely help.
In that spirit, I want to shout out a few other indie comic campaigns worth checking out.
Mark Florio’s The Iron Golem #1: Vengeance is Forged, Not Born is live now, recommended by longtime Kickstarter/ComixLaunch Mastermind friend Rob Multari, who recently wrapped a successful Snow Paw campaign. Mark’s book has already passed its goal and is building serious momentum.
And fellow ComixLaunch Mastermind creator Chris Brimmage has MANDRILL P.I. Issues #1-9 live now, bringing more cartoon noir, mystery and luchador mayhem to Kickstarter.
Crowdfunding works best when these circles overlap: readers, creators, backers and friends helping the right projects find the right people.
Feral #2 is funded. Now we’re trying to reach the readers who haven’t found it yet.
Every pledge helps. Every backer matters. And every share helps the world of Feral grow a little further.
AND... if TTRPGs are also your jam, don’t forget to check out Feral: Historical Fantasy RPG that we’re launching in October 2026. While we love comics, it’s really all about storytelling. Building a community of like-minded storytellers to expand the Feral universe seems like fun, no? You can follow the upcoming campaign below, or, if you’re keen we also have a secret founder’s tier (The Black Ledger Society) baked into the current Feral #2 campaign. You won’t find it on the main page, but if you’re interested or know someone who is, email us at blackledger@madquillcomics.com for more details.
